who's who?

guilty as charged. I'm forever the last one to know who's who. & i dun give a care *lol*

there were 3 NUS interns in our small office for 6 months (2-3 times a wk), and according to my colleagues - "(1) ney, the most handsome & cool one = DN", "(2) the tallest & most talkative one = ZP", "(3) the fattest & most quiet one = ZL". I only remember got 3 guys... dats all i remember. got handsome one meh? *scratch scratch* I dun tink any of the 3 fat ah? *scatch scratch* talkative? is dat the one sitting behind me in office?

and now they are complaining abt the M'sia office new staff who comes in our sg office 2 times a mth. "he's so rude, and speaks as if he's boss", "he looks at gers fr head to toe", "he looks like ah beng, unbutton his shirt so low & belt so big"... and i only remember he's a guy, he wears light-colored shirt + pants. end of story.

"that bad?" i asked. they look at me. "aiya, u forever dun notice any guys lah! u only know ur manga bishies." hehe, that's true!

Kill Bill Vol.1

oh yes, i'm late. only just watched the dvd version of Kill Bill Vol.1. uncut.

i duno wat to make out of it. stil thinking thru. still recapturing the scenes. it stunts me with the violence, amazes me with the beauty, yet amuses me with the larger-than-life. nevertheless a very entertaining movie. i wld stil say it's a masterpiece. truely one of a kind.

The story to me currently, is stil very terribly comical. but again to tink of it, the details are actually very intricate. i'll go thru the script later & try to make more sense outta it.

o-ren ishiigo go yubari

View main characters from Kill Bill vol.1

i favourtise. i like oriental girls. so i'd say my fav characters fr vol.1 are O-ren Ishii & Go-go Yubari. in fact, my fav fight scene is btw The Bride & Go-go Yubari.

be watching vol.2 when i get back from work laterz.

actually, i'm stil tinking where the wheelchair went after the Bride rested for 13 hrs inside Pussy Wagon and why Sopie didn't die from loss of blood after cut off her whole arm for so long *lol*

conversation with the doc

i'm really not that sick actually. ya, some cramps & discomfort, probably plus some emotional irritations (well, my supervisor is back to office tdy after her long maternity leave). anyway, i decided to hop to the doc's & ask for MC :p

i get to talk to the doc abit abt my weight concerns as well (yes, u guys probably thinking i'm geting a bit too obsessed), ya he says i've lost weight too but i told him i'd like to press it down further.

ah, a bit of intro abt him too. the clinic actually has 3 docs- 1 young lad, 1 mid-aged lady, & 1 old man *lol*. my timing also hit the young guy, his name is Dr. Jeremy Tan(isit Tan?). i only caught the old man twice & the lady once.

anyway, after taking the height/weight & checking the BMI chart, i'm in the ideal range, thou i'm not happy b'cuz its in the later range & now my weight is simply stagnant *sobs*. he mentioned abt medication, which is the basic 3 - (1)to suppress appetite (2)to pass out oil (3)supplements in replace of food. I had taken the 1st 2 prescription for 3 weeks mths back, & it was a totally UNPLEASANT experience (i ever told asaciel I'll nvr wana take it again!), and now neither do i wana take the last option.. i wana taste the wonders of food!! i'm not interested in those X*ndo/e*trim, etc but he reminded me anyway not to take those.

"so u already know best" he says, "more exercises & less food. no other alternatives" T_T

Emma Shapplin

went with asaciel to emma shapplin's concert at Esplanade concert hall last night. Utterly disppointed.

Once we arrived in the concert hall itself, looking at the small stage we really weren't expecting much. Especially when we only saw 4 musician's platforms at the back & the music enginnering equipment set up at the corner. Ok, there's no "live" orchestra, only the minimal keyboards/piano, guitar, bass & drums. Mebe there's something else we can look for later? but....

She's a world-class Soprano! what the heck happened?!

there were these 2 irritating male dancers on stage which apparently do not add on any sense of beauty to the concert, Emma dressed in draps (literally), music overpowering emma's voice, what the f**k (too pissed off to say anything else... read asaciel's if u wana know more)

Saturday
as per usual, Pilates lesson from 1.45-2.45pm. This is my 1st term, and ending soon. I should be continuing to level 2. My instructor is Seow Wei, probably in her mid-20s. She's a freelancer, & been doin Pilates for 4 yrs.

Why would anyone wanna do Pilates? and in fact that majority is ladies. Top reason, to look good. Actresses, dancers. It's pain sia, Gin would know *lol* i'm gonna stick thru it... somehow T_T i'm gonna get my own stretch band to practise @ hm. Ouch.

Last nite watched "My Life as McDull" at 7pm @ GV Marina. It was rendered 2D chara against 3D bg to portray a out-of-tune atmosphere. It has a simple story, narrating a young "pig" - his birth, his childhood, but times were difficult. What's touching is his mum's greatness, raising him single-handedly, and his respect & love for his mum - sometimes doin tings he doesnt understand but as long as his mum is happy.

Click on the thumbnails below for hi-resolution images:

After taking a short dinner at Cavana in the break, i watched "Interstella 5555" at 9.15pm. It's commissioned by a french House group Daft Punk to Toei Animation to make a full animated movie based on their music album. I've seen 1 MV fr the movie (which is actually 1 chapter of the movie) so I more or less know what i'm in for. It's a simple plot of a grp of alien House grp kidnapped by a greedy businessman & made to be hot-selling record artists on planet Earth, then their homeland fan came to save them(& sacrificed) and eventually they made it home. No dialogue, only Daft Punk's music tracks thru'out the music, u can say it's a MV-movie. keke.

They added screenings! Be catching Harvie Krumpet+Belleville Rendez-Vous & A Winter's Day next wed.

losing weight vs. body scuplture

these 2 things are different.

losing weight = seeing numbers on the weighing machine scale
body sculpture = seeing numbers on body(parts) measurements

and exercises are generally 3 different kinds (they shd be balanced):
1) cardio. That's to increase the metabolism, to burn up fats more regularly & faster. This includes faster-paced & more complicated aerobics, jogging, cycling, rope-skipping (for more than 30mins).
2) weights. That's when the main intention is converting fats into muscles. This includes all those gym equipments, lifting weights.
3) toning/sculpturing. That's to stretch out your muscles and prevent bulkness. This is mainly slow & low-impact focusing on stretching like Pilates, (most) Yoga, doing light but repetitive actions.

In the initial stage of the whole exercising deal, weightloss is visibly faster because the body has lotsa fats to lose & the body is suddenly stimulated by an increase of exercises. Then, there will be a slight increase of weight as fats are being converted to muscles, and muscles are heavier than fats. There will be weightloss again but getting less & less till it reach a stagnant period b'cus the body got used to the amt of exercises. This is when there should be an increase of exercises or change of exercises to stimulate the body again.

red meat = acidic = toxins = additional weight. Our body accumulated toxins fr our food & external pollution. Thus, body detoxification, which means to flush out toxins fr the body by several means: detox healthfood, drinking water (natural detox) + massaging (breaking down fats) + exercising (sweat it out), fasting. In the initial stage, it will show some significant weightloss as it clears out the accumulated toxins then it's just becomes daily maintenance.

Losing weight & Weight Maintenance are also very different.
Losing weight = burning more fats than consumed fats. recommended exercise 5-7daz/wk. 45mins & more per session.
Weight Maintanence = buring off the daily (bi-daily,etc) consumed fats. MINIMUM shd b exercising 3dayz/wk 20-30 mins per session.

exercising 1st 20 mins = the body warms up
after 20 mins = cardio. heartbeat increases, blood pumps faster
after 30 mins = starts burning fats

another BIG factor to the whole thing is GENES. If half of your family generations are fat, u can expect a tough fight. Hard work & diet alone do not mean things will work out as fast & ideal on everyone...

If anyone is looking into those various diet plans or diet pills, read thru' 1st & know whats in for u oh!

weight *sobs*

despite that i've cut down on food intake, more particular about eating options, doing aerobics & pilates & kickboxing, i'm not losing any weight at all!

DAMN. i'm depressed.

& my mum says I've not exercised as much as the initial months (i was like "huh"??), but that time i haven't taken up all these & only relied on jogging & rope-skipping!

DAMN. i'm depressed again.

i'm starting rope-skipping 1500-2000 times every night again.

The Male Anatomy Quiz: Do You Know What You Need to Know?

You scored 90% correct!

High Score: Bacon Babe
You can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan and eat high on the hog. For a creature with completely different plumbing, you know your man's little man pretty well. Now get tips on how to make it work for you:

my celebrity style

What's Your Celebrity Style?

You scored 80% Trendsetter
Like Gywneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker or Cate Blanchett, you have a witty and individualistic approach to style. Your friends admire your expressiveness, but you're not necessarily out to grab attention. You just like what you like, and you know how to put it all together in fresh new ways. An experimenter at heart, you keep up with trends in order to put your own personal stamp on them. Like Cate, you may enjoy trying different things, and never look the same way twice. Or, like Gwyneth and Sarah Jessica, you may have a style all your own that can't help but set trends in motion. Classic trendsetting stars you resemble include Marlene Dietrich and Lauren Bacall, who did it their way all the way.

Your Must-Haves: Eye-catching accessories, cool vintage bags, something animal-print (a zebra coat?), funky shoes, and to keep it all balanced, the perfect crisp white blouse

Your Classic Movies: To Have and Have Not, Rebel without a Cause, Bonnie and Clyde

Other Celebrity Style Inspirations: Madonna, Natalie Wood, Faye Dunaway

You scored 10% Glamour Queen
Like Catherine Zeta Jones, Jennifer Lopez and Charlize Theron, you're not afraid to turn heads. You respect the rules that made Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe the icons they are: Keep the lipstick dark, the eyes mysterious and the clothes gorgeous -- and never let 'em see you in sweats. Your friends are inspired by your sense of drama and romance, and your biggest style challenge is living a life as sexy and self-assured as your wardrobe. Glamour is not dead, it's alive and well and living in your closet. Sound like an exaggeration? Maybe you're a glamour girl at heart whose daily uniform is a low-key turtleneck or a gray flannel suit. Whatever you wear, as Catherine, Jennifer and Charlize demonstrate, true glamour is less about ball gowns than regal bearing and a confident demeanor -- and you have that in abundance.

Your Must-Haves: Tall leather boots, anything red, gorgeous jewelry and at least one knock-'em-dead silk dress

Your Classic Movies: Cleopatra, The Seven Year Itch, Gilda

Other Celebrity Style Inspirations: Lucy Liu, Rita Hayworth, Sophia Loren

You scored 10% Classic with a Twist
Like Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Winona Ryder, your polished, ladylike style is served in a long, cool glass with a shot of personal poise. But you're no strict traditionalist; your appreciation for flattering classics is informed by your own personality and spirit, and you aren't afraid to mix understated standbys with unusual flourishes that are uniquely yours. Your friends love your impeccable taste, and with good reason: You're one pulled-together lady, what used to be called "a class act." You aim to be neither a trend follower nor a trendsetter. Following in the style footsteps of icons Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, your motto is "why fix what ain't broke?" Women have always looked great in black dresses and red lipstick -- and they still do.

Your Must-Haves: At least one luscious cashmere sweater, ladylike slingbacks, a silver compact or lipstick case, a trench coat and the perfect black dress

Your Classic Movies: Rear Window, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Dial M for Murder

Other Celebrity Style Inspirations: Gillian Anderson, Lena Horne, Uma Thurman

You scored 0% Low-Maintenance Hottie
Like Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan and Janeane Garafalo, you know looking good doesn't have to take hours. Your motto is "keep it simple, sweetheart," and your friends respect your independence. You may resist dressing up, but for good reason -- Julia knows she looks best when she lets her curly mane be natural, Janeane knows the coolest style statement is doing her own thing, and Meg has become one of the power players in Hollywood on the strength of her winning grin, rather than being a glamourpuss. Plus, all these stars have one thing in common: a natural appeal that comes from being themselves. Like classic -- and classy -- film icons Katherine Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman, you're no slave to fashion, and that suits you perfectly.

Your Must Haves: Lip balm, wear-with-anything shoes, one perfect all-purpose bag and a favorite comfy sweater -- and you practically invented blue jeans yourself!

Your Classic Movies: The Philadelphia Story, Casablanca, Annie Hall

Other Celebrity Style Inspirations: Diane Keaton, Doris Day, Cameron Diaz

my friendship style

What is Your Friendship style

You scored 50% Lone Wolf
You're an independent, intelligent free thinker who cherishes her individuality as well as her friendships -- people love being friends with you because you inspire them to self-reflection and self-improvement. Your friends may not see you every day, but they know you support them and care about them, and you share your knowledge and your gifts freely when asked. People look up to you because you understand yourself well, and you understand your own needs for stimulation and personal growth. As independent and forceful as you are, though, you may sometimes leave a buddy out in the cold. If you're worried your friends may find you aloof, improve your dependability with some Reliable Advisor qualities.

You scored 30% Reliable Advisor
You're accomplished, thoughtful, and generous, a font of wisdom and constructive criticism -- people love being friends with you because they know you've got their back. Your trustworthy nature and balanced, fair judgment make you a superb confidante and mediator, and while you may sometimes feel that your friends turn to you for advice about everything, you'd never let down anyone you cared about. Besides, your friends know your opinions are too valuable to do without! Your insight and loyalty are in high demand, but be sure to make friends aware that you're not just Old Faithful. You're the leading actress in your own life -- if some relationships make you feel more like the trusty sidekick, put a new face on your friendship by adopting the some of the attitude of your Bright Spark buddies.

You scored 10% Loving Sister
You're an affectionate, sensitive, intuitive sweetie who takes her friendships very seriously -- people love being friends with you because they know you understand them. You nurture your friends, which is a constantly-renewing gift: you're the first one to step forward with chicken soup if they're sick, tissue if they're crying, and a phone call if they're lonely. You love being cared for yourself, too -- not that you'd ever admit it. It's not surprising that you build such strong bonds with your friends, loyal and steadfast as you are. Be careful not to pamper your buddies too much, though, since it can drain you of much-needed energy and encourage otherwise good friends to take your big-hearted nature for granted. You might incorporate some Lone Wolf traits into unbalanced relationships that take more than they give.

You scored 10% Bright Spark
You're a kick in the pants, an inspirer, an activator -- people love being friends with you because you're full of energy and fun ideas. You aim to make the people around you feel happy and comfortable, and you nearly always succeed. You have a wide circle of devoted buddies and admirers, and you take vicarious pleasure in their successes and accomplishments while inspiring your friends with your own passion for life. Although you may sometimes resent the pressure of being everybody's muse or ray of sunshine, you try not to let it show -- but do listen to those voices in your head that urge you to slow down and savor your friendships more fully. Consider deepening your friendships with a dose of the nurturing that your Loving Sister friends bring to their relationships.

my taste

quiz: taste your test

You scored 70% Modernist
If you scored 60% or above: You were ready for the new Millennium before anyone else, and you have a style-forward decorating sense that always combines form and function. Your home is a shrine to great 20th century modern home accessories.

You scored 20% Eclectic
If you scored less than 30%: You like to pick one style and go with it -- no matter whether it's traditional, modern, or Martian.

You scored 10% Traditionalist
If you scored less than 30%: The only traditions you follow are Christmas and New Year's. You follow your own path, and that is a good thing!

You scored 0% Retro-File
If you scored less than 30%: Retro reminds you of the smell of mothballs and avocado and orange countertops and linoleum. Stick with the shiny and new -- it suits you.

isit really dat hard?

call me indifferent. the tot of getting into a relation nvr crossed my mind eversince i gained independance.

i enjoy my freedom, i set my own pace, i explore my own space. YES. everything is about "i". the tot of having to share all these with another person scares me. the tot of having to compromise & re-adjust my time & schedule tires me.

i enjoy talking to guys & gals alike. in fact, i can talk better wif guys. but the moment i feel they are "looking for someone", i back off far far away. it creeps me out.

i nvr see the nid to share my emotional burden. probably, i dun hv much emotional burden to share anyway. i've learnt to not hold on to anything. always reminding myself nobody has the obligation to take care of me, nor the responsibility to watch over me. Does getting so close to [someone] made [me] weak? At least, dats wat i see in so many of my frienz :(

if so, i rather stay single.

Singapore Arts Festival: Victoria

University Cultural Centre Theatre was small & cosy. I'm impressed with Dulcinea Langfelder & Co. (Canada), the way they set up the stage using various mobile & flexible white sheet screens which not only hint a hospital setting but also serves as screens for lights & shadows & screen projections which set a lot of the the mood. I was watching Victoria last night :)

90yr-old Victoria actually demostrated an interesting point; since she can't remembers [thing]s, she gives [thing]s a brand new meaning. We are often too hindered by our "memories" (& knowledge) that we immediately attached a whole chunk of info on any[thing] we come across. Wouldn't it be interesting & lighter if we can let go of what we know (or what we think we know) & look at every[thing] everytime with an open mind? ~:)

some nice quotes fr Victoria...

- "The older I get, the more vividly I remember things that never happened"
- "I can't remember your name, but I remember you because you have a BIG heart"
- "Patience, it(whatever u are waiting for) will come to you"

(Oh, dis post is a bit long!)

Battle Royale

One of my targeted cosplay costume. Sch uniform of Shiroiwa High in Battle Royal I. My aunt (in Indonesia) has kindly tailored for me and my mum has just passed it to me, after meeting her in Malacca. As i try to to be as accurate as possible, I hv to do some slight ammendments to the jacket & skirt and add on the sch symbol onto the tie. In addition, I have to do up the collar, the survival-kit, the weapon & the round-collared white long-sleeved shirt as well. Was hoping to do Girl#13 Takako Chigusa but might clash with Vicki... see how things go then. Hope to get it ready for Cosfest on 4th July @ DownTown East ;)

Sarah Brightman

the concert (courtesy of Sarah Brightman's offical website!)

They did the exact duplication of the original concert in the hometown. The stage, the sound system, the dancers, the staff... all the original cast. Thus, the top quality. *points @ pic* you can see the catwalk which leads to a small pentagon stage, but at the other end of the catwalk it was actually a BIG ROUND stage... i can't really describe it 0_o; but it was truely breath-taking~

I was sitting at the front right block, 11th row seat 9 and can clearly see her when she walks to the catwalk & on the small pentagon stage! Despite she's in her mid-40s, she's full of seductive grace (she's known to be a wild one and was once a teen-model oh). Skin tanned & always a smile on her face~ The indoor stadium is about 90% filled with 60% foreigners & most of them are her hardcore fans. The couple beside me has been listening to her for 2 decades & seen all her previous performances. wow.

The concert was full of lighting effects & prop effects backed up by 8 dancers, 2 backup + 1 guest vocalists, a small 'live' orchestra, a terrific sound system crew & special stage props. But Sarah Brightman herself did some of the "stunts" like wired up & doin samersaults, spread wings like a bird, raised up platforms, etc~ and she played the piano as she sang "The war is over now"

I was reading the Straits Time Life! earlier and they mentioned some US critics compared her to Britney, resorting to those fancy clothes-changing, special effects & scantilly-dressed dancers... i beg to differ! She's sexy & got a mind of her own, yes with her gifted voice she can do w/o all these, but she has put all these together to make a performance of a higher-level, so why not?! She has evolved so much thru'out her 25 yrs of career...

i started listening to her since secondary school years when she was in her operatic era. I did hear some of her earlier pop era songs but i didn't really like it *lol* now she has moved on to neoclassic/newage/techno... i'm glad i made it to her concert~ MAGNIFICENT is an understatement~

Sarah Brightman is a Coloratura Soprano. So is the french vocalist (classical/neoclassic stepover) Emma Shapplin, whose concert i'll be attending next Sunday!

depression?

I used to hv that on a regular basis last time... (2 yrs & before?) now i jus bochup everything i guess~ noOne / noThing can hurt u unless u let them to ~

Arts Festival: La Música del Cuerpo

I brought mum along for this comtemporary spanish modern dance + flamenco performance. It was cheorographed by Rafaela Carrasco (not that i know her beforehand -_-;), who apparently had worn national recognition thru competitions in her homeland. As the dance title hints, it's "music of the body". And thats just wat the troupe displayed.

With their band playing in the background, every part of their body & every movement portrayed a note. In their 1st act into five, each dancer personifies the running notes of a specific instrument involved in a composition for 5. The 3rd act behind the mirror, 2 dancers mirrored each other and it closed off with the solo dance of the 3rd dancer behind the mirror. i guess my fav is still after the interval, when in an act there were 3 pairs of dancers and each pair signifies harmony, opposition & struggle respectively in terms of both music tempo & body guestures.

Though sadly it was only abt 90% full, with 50% foreigners & 15% japanese audience *sigh*... the performance was never lacked of endless rounds of applause. It was really a great performance ~:)

Earth
Your element is earth: Wise, solitary, mysterious
and loving. You are very wise. Your wise as in
you know things others do not, you can see past
stereotypes and see the real people behind
their facades, and people will often come to
you for help and advice. Quite solitary and
somewhat shy around people because you prefer
animals and plants, animals aren't afraid to
show themselves or what they are feeling and
plants are fun to nurture. You are very strong
in your silence if you set your mind on
something you will often times pursue it to the
end. Sometimes you just want to get away, so
you seek refuge in the forest where you can
have time to think and try to sort out your
emotions. The sound of the wind usually calms
you, especially moving through the trees. Life
to you is something precious and should not be
taken for granted.

Mint Tea
Mint Tea...
You are Mint Tea!
Naturally sweet you have a happy-go-lucky attitude.
The world is full of fun and wonder! Although
you can be naive at times and quite aloof to
your surroundings you know how to have good
clean fun! Most people see you as cute and very
gentle by nature and it is most likely true.
You have a great outlook on life and you try
not to let things get to you. Go you!

Reserved, quiet, wise and free spirited
You are a sprite of the Earth: You have a deep
connection with the earth and all its
creatures, preferring plants and animals to
people you are quiet and reserved. You
understand things on a different level and can
often see straight through to a persons true
intentions. You are mysterious to everyone even
those in your family, they may live with you
but that doesn't mean they 'know' the real you.
Being inside the house for long periods of time
can be torture, you crave the outdoors and love
simply escaping up a tree or into the forest
where you can be free. Although you may be
smart you are easy to judge a person because
you fear what they 'may' be going to do. You
are wise in things that most overlook and you
are very creative in many aspects like art,
music, etc... Although try as they may to seek
you, you are a free spirit. Just let them try
to catch and put you in a cage.

no archery *sobs*

sunday morn as usual i woke early & go to Hougang Sports Council for HiLo aerobics class. Gladys stood in for Juliana who's getting married for these 3 wks. He's also teaching Kickboxing class (which is directly after HiLo). To be honest, i dun really like his way of teaching but ohwell~ i jus probably wun continue his Kickboxing class aft the 12 sessions.

aftern supposedly Archery at Kampong Ubi CC starts but damn! it din as lack of students & they nvr informed me! they were stil blur when I asked at the counter. very annoyed. i tink i might jus ask for money refund & look elsewhere.

at home i watched thru 13 OVA epi of Hino Tori. it's adapted fr a classic manga done by Tezuma Osamu (it's in fact, one of his greatest work), the most respected manga artist behind works like Atom Boy, Simba the white Lion, etc. I oso watched the doc(epilogue) introducing his life, his inspirations, his thoughts... and was deeply touched by his dedicated he was to his work & his passion abt Life & manga. truely inspiring ~:)

12-girls Band concert

YOu can see their individual close up pix here~

Last night attended the 12-girls Band concert. They were previously signed under Universal Music but just went on to EMI in May, and planning to release their album in US in Aug, with their eyes locked on Grammy awards. They may look just like another Bond, Vanessa Mae, Maksim, 12 planets & their music is comptemporary (not to miss out the fact ALL these artistes do have strong classical music background with competition awards, etc), but if they can let everyone else in the world raise an interest in Chinese music... mebe it's not a bad thing afterall.

I was expecting too high (many ppl said that to me) so I was a bit disappointed with the concert. There are some slight off-tune incidents, and the sound system suxxxx... but anyway my mum enjoyed it :/

Arts Festival : Morphia Series

Last night i went to Esplanade for the comptempory dance performance Morphia Series. It was the 1st time I watch performances at Esplanade... it was shiok. *lol* The venue was at Theatre Studio at the top level, since i came early i was led to a waiting place. Sitting there, i can see the roofop & the drizzling evening, really relaxing.

the performance is short (barely half an hr) & mysterious, we were led in by the asher pair by pair in the dark. every show there's a limited audience of 12. there's only a solitary spotlight on the "stage" & silence. it is rated RA due to nudity. i shalln't go into details of the show, but it's truely a sense-triggering experience. it conveyed a lot of emotions; confusion, flow & fear thru body language. beautiful really.

i'm lookin look forward to next monday's flamenco dance performance. till then :D

breathe!

i'm having a bit of problems adjusting to Hatha Yoga @ the moment. i'm also practising Pilates, and the breathing systems of pilates & yoga are pretty different:

- Pilates= thoracic breathing system where you use and activate the abdominal muscles continually throughout the practice. As you expand the lungs to the side stretching the intercostal muscles, you allow the lungs to work to their full capacity while protecting and strengthening your lower back.

- Yoga= Pranayama (proper breathing) which actually is 3 related types of breathing.
(1)Clavicular breathing (which we are all doing normally) which the shoulders and collarbone are raised while the abdomen is contracted during inhalation.
(2)Thoracic breathing is done with the rib muscles expanding the rib cage, and
(3)Deep abdominal breathing brings air to the lowest and largest part of the lungs. Breathing is slow and deep, and proper use is made of the diaphragm.

B R E A T H E. urg. i have difficulty breathing. damn. its such a chore to breathe -_-;
