wakeboarding

OMG, I nearly died! It's so much tougher than I tot! yeah yeah, it's WATER SPORTS, but I think I'm not so mentally prepared to do all these.

Before onto the boat, I was taught to put on the binders (binders refer to the *shoes* which are screwed onto the wakeboard, they are totally 2 separate items... what I only realise today T_T) on ground. Fine, it's not that difficult. TILL I have to go down INTO the water and take off/put on the binders/wakeboard IN water! (they wanted me to finish it in 30s... but I honestly can't T_T mind you... the wakeboard floats and your legs don't).

If you are chest-down in water, u need to flip urself chest-up. Sounds simple right? with the binded wakeboard on your feet! you need to STRAIGHTEN your legs and toes pointing down so the wakeboard *cuts* the water. I still failed to do this at the end of today's lessons. The wakeboard isn't light, especially in water T_T

so the boat is on standby. I've gotten into the water, hands gripped on the bar. But I wasn't mentally prepared for what followed. I was so taken aback, I let go almost immediately! hahaha yeah I swollowed a lot of salt water today! My grip isn't strong enough, so just imagine how many times I let go and fell into the water XD (the boat is FAST ok!) They will keep tell you, "keep your hands straight, but DON'T PULL!"... yes, you need to GRIP STRONG, but the rest of your hands are NOT supposed to move! It's hard! 'cos subconsciously I'll bend my elbow to pull my self even though I know I only need to GRIP TIGHT at the palm/fingers....

Then... you need to stand up. You only use your leg muscles to push urself up. and you have to do it EQUALLY on both legs. once you assert more strength on one leg, you are unbalanced, and your wakeboard goes haywired in direction. That's what I need to work on now T_T I still can't stand by the end of today... (after the stand, it's the hips that need to do some work... which I yet to do it...)

to be continued next week T_T

p.s. yeah. the instructor ANDY is very cute, 'cos he's half-australian I think. He got a fanclub *lol*
