The Woman In Black

Last night I took a cab down instead. The repertory theatre was full of people. Fullhouse. It's those old shophouses converted to theatre. Dimly lit by orange lights. A lot of locals among the crowd, all to watch The Woman In Black

I read several reviews on the theatrical piece (no, i didn't read the novel YET), that it has ran for a decade and one of the scariest piece on stage. You can say I went last night with an open mind, apart from expecting to be scared.

The 2 male actors were very good, they really transmited nervousness just from their guestures. The setting was pretty elaborate for a stage play, various pieces of furniture and a middle screen for projections as well as to "cut" the space. Lightings and shadows are very much taken care of, you can immediately know the "time of the day" and "where they are". But i tink the best is the sounds. They really added a deep impact. Some girls in the audience were some taken by surprise they actually screamed at various parts of the play (and of cos, followed by everyone laughing at them *lol*).

enjoyed the night!
